Accelerate Testing: TPT with Simulink

MATLAB Accelerate TPT

TPT can test Simulink and Targetlink models. From our point of view, it is easy to setup and fast in execution. When Testing Simulink models, the three modes: Accelerator, Rapid Accelerator and SiL, are supported.

Not surprisingly the SiL mode is the fastest. In SiL mode the model is converted into code.

This generated code can also be directly tested in TPT. Our measurements have shown that the test execution is then 30% faster. With this approach, however, there are still wide advantages.

Our top 3 learnings at a glance and briefly explained.

1. Test execution is faster with TPT. Results from large models are thus available earlier.

2. Software tests can take place independently of the platform, so that no additional tools are required. This can reduce costs, especially when different test and development teams work together.

 3. The approach of testing the generated code facilitates the infrastructural setup of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Testing (CT) environments by reducing the number of interacting tools. This saves additional costs.
