Highlight What Matters Most

Highlight what matters most with Markup

You want to highlight text in your test cases, cross something out, quickly insert a table or add a link? No problem: text formatting is now possible in TPT18 thanks to Markup.

In TPT18, you can now use Markup in the descriptions of Test Cases, Variants and Testlets, as well as in the test case details and documentation step (in the step lists).

Markup is intended to be as easy-to-read and easy-to-write as is feasible. It primarily uses ‘*’ and ‘_’ for in-text formatting of words and sections of text. The syntax is widely used due to its ease of use and application. You can read about the formatting supported in TPT18 in our TPT documentation.

Our implementation is based on the CommonMark library and has been extended with our own extensions. Beside the standards bold and italic, you can use tables, images, links and multi-level bullet lists in TPT.

Using the new ‘eye’ button you can switch between Markup-Edit View and Markup-Render View. In the Render View editing is disabled. In all Markup supported areas you can also switch to the split screen for Markup. Here you can write and see the rendered result. Don’t forget to confirm with OK while editing. Changes can be undone with Control+Z or restored with Control+Y.

With Markup we have implemented another useful feature for TPT users to further increase the clarity in TPT. We wish you a lot of fun using it and hope you like it.

Happy Mark-Up.
